Luminous Plankton Tour in Isla Barú

The archipelago of Islas del Rosario is made up of 28 islands, one of the favorites by visitors is Isla Barú , it has a particularity and is the presence of the so-called "luminous Plankton " that attracts the attention of hundreds of tourists at night.

Plankton is produced by a series of algae called Noctiluca scintillans , also known as " spark of the sea ", which is responsible for causing these light flashes. It is a great experience to contemplate how the sea lights up before your eyes like a starry sky.

Activity details:

Between 2:30 p.m. - 03:00 p.m. we will start this wonderful adventure. We pick you up at the hotel where you are staying . You will always be accompanied by our orientation guide (English-Spanish language).

By land we travel to Barú , located just 45 minutes from the city of Cartagena de Indias, in the sunny chairs that the Island has, you can take a break in front of the sea, and when the sun sets, you can dive into the sea and swim in the warm waters full of bioluminescent plankton, appreciating one of the most beautiful phenomena of Nature.

You will also enjoy a delicious snack and at 07:30 pm we will return to the city of Cartagena, where this great experience will end.
